Questions and Answers

IS AN ADJUSTMENT GIVEN EVERY TIME THE PATIENT VISITS THE CHIROPRACTOR?

Since spinal muscles are able to correct vertebral misalignment ONLY WHILE ADJUSTMENT IS HOLDING it is NECESSARY for adjustment to possess holding value.   Otherwise, the correction attempts will result in failure.  Experience has shown that the fewer adjustments needed, the greater the recovery potential.

BUT IF I DON’T FEEL WELL, OR BEGIN TO FEEL PAIN, DOESN’T THAT SHOW I NEED AN ADJUSTMENT?

Not necessarily.  Even though our symptoms may be extremely distressing, you may still be in adjustment.  Unrepaired tissue damage, uncorrected misalignment, and the processes of repair and correction make the patient subject to both old and new symptoms.

At times the body retraces the path that has lead to disease.  Thus, symptoms that existed previously and then disappeared may temporarily reaper during such a period.  Chronic conditions may become severely acute before they are cleared up.

Giving an adjustment at such a time would as surely retard recovery as would taking a drug.  Either would interfere with the natural recuperative forced that are attempting to restore health. In short, it is ONLY the precision tests of the Chiropractor that give evidence of the existence of nerve interference and the need for an adjustment.

HOW DOES THE CHIROPRACTOR KNOW WHEN AND WHERE TO GIVE THE ADJUSTMENT?

This information is obtained by two scientific means first, precision Chiropractic Spinal Tests, and secondly by X-ray Spinographs.  The Spinal Tests indicate WHEN nerve interference exists.  The X-ray Spinograph reveal WHERE correction is needed.

The Chiropractor must also know precisely HOW to deliver the adjustment WITH HOLDING VALUE.  That information is obtained by the use of the Protractoviews.  These are Spinographs (spinal x-rays made with precision alignment) customized to permit study of the patient’s vertebral articular surfaces.

Once all information gathered from all Spinal Tests and all X-ray Spinographs is correlated and conclusions reached, the Chiropractor is ready to begin the needed spinal correction.

HOW CAN THE CHIOPRACTOR TELL IF THE ADJUSTMENT WAS CORRRECTLY MADE?

The precision means just described are geared to check the correctness of the adjustment.  In fact, they prove the TRUTH of the whole Chiropractic principle!Comparative x-rays taken before and after corrective periods show the displacement of the vertebrae BEFORE and the amount of correction AFTERWARDS.  Similarly, the precision spinal tests indicate the presence of nerve interference BEFORE an adjustment and its reduction AFTER the adjustment.
