Our bodies generate an incredible amount of energy.  This energy is what keeps us alive and allows us to do the activities we not only need but also enjoy.  That being the case, proper nutrition is a crucial element to anyone wanting to live a healthy lifestyle.  By eating the proper foods, you not only get the benefits of being healthy and more energetic, it also helps prevent you from getting certain types of disease in the first place, which are things like diabetes and hypertension.  Even if you have these conditions, the latest research shows that by having a properly functioning nervous system and eating properly, it is possible to reverse these diseases and return to a normal state of health.  How profound is that?

Remember when people used to say "you are what you eat?"  Well look around.  Our country is one of the fattest in the world, with high rates of premature death and increasing rates of obesity and cardiovascular disease.  With a nation that is regarded for its technological advancement, we are quickly killing ourselves by making poor choices when it comes to our health.  Health is a long term investment.  You must make the proper choices everyday and wait for the effects to show up down the road.  Impatience and lack of determination will only have a negative impact on your health.
