Our bodies generate an incredible amount of energy.  This energy is what keeps us alive and allows us to do the activities we not only need but also enjoy.  That being the case, proper nutrition is a crucial element to anyone wanting to live a healthy lifestyle.  By eating the proper foods, you not only get the benefits of being healthy and more energetic, it also helps prevent you from getting certain types of disease in the first place, which are things like diabetes and hypertension.  Even if you have these conditions, the latest research shows that by having a properly functioning nervous system and eating properly, it is possible to reverse these diseases and return to a normal state of health.  How profound is that?

Remember when people used to say "you are what you eat?"  Well look around.  Our country is one of the fattest in the world, with high rates of premature death and increasing rates of obesity and cardiovascular disease.  With a nation that is regarded for its technological advancement, we are quickly killing ourselves by making poor choices when it comes to our health.  Health is a long term investment.  You must make the proper choices everyday and wait for the effects to show up down the road.  Impatience and lack of determination will only have a negative impact on your health.

I encourage all of you to invest in your health by making one good choice at a time.  In the long run, you will see the results you know are possible.  Then you can enjoy your life with the best it has to offer.

Live wise.  Live well.

Health versus Fitness
Tuesday, 13 July 2010 17:14

Health is defined as the general condition of something in terms of soundness, vitality and proper functioning.

Fit is defined as to be suitable or adapted to.  To be the proper size for something.

By looking at both definitions it is possible to see that there is a big difference in terms of being healthy and being fit.  Many people have used the terms interchangeably and incorrectly.  Of course, it does not mean that one does not have an effect on the other, but on their own accord being fit does not mean one is healthy, or vice versa.

People live acitve lifestyles in order to be fit because it effects their overall health, but how many people do we know of or hear about in the news that are very active but still end up having a life threatening condition or illness.  On the other hand, we hear stories or know people who abuse their bodies but still live a long life without any major complications.   It is not to say we chould just give up and be extreme and not care for ourselves.  Instead, we should better our chances at survival, and living a healthy, vibrant life by doing all we can to ensure that we will be able to do so.

Being fit involves being active and living a lifestyle that reflects just that.  Playing sports, going to the gym, walking, swimming, dancing, are all activities which provides our bodies information to keep a level of fitness.  To be well rounded and truly be healthy, one must improve the level of functioning within their own bodies.  That starts with a properly functioning nervous system, free of any intereference between the brain and body.  It also involves providing the proer nutrients so your body has the essential ingredients to function properly.  And lastly, we must remove the stressors that are having a negative impact on our lives.  Those stressors may be either, chemical, physical, mental and/or emotional.

Life can be lived with happiness, health and vitality, but you must want to choose to do so.

Live well.

Nothing is More Powerful!
Thursday, 24 June 2010 16:58

When our 7y/o patient first came to us, he had symptoms of poor posture, ASTHMA, headaches, sleeping problems, nervousness, constipation and fatigue.  His parents and teachers were concerned because he was having difficulty reading and they thought he might have ADD(attention deficit disorder).

Within one month of care, EVERYTHING improved.  Needless to say his parents were amazed!  His posture changed within the first week, and his other symptoms including asthma all went away.  He even started to do better in school.  His reading improved dramatically.

When the nervous system function correctly, the entire body responds accordingly.  If there is a problem the body responds to that as well.  Health comes from within.  It is a natural state.  You must give the body its best chance at health by allowing it to function optiomally.  Upper cervical care does just that.  It frees the nervous system to communicate with every cell in the body.  There is nothing more powerful.

More Than Just Pain Management!
Tuesday, 22 June 2010 17:23

We recently had the opprtunity to treat  patient who was diagnosed with manic depression aka bipolar disorder.  When she first came into the office she was in a very manic state.  She was very hyper and talking about random things that came to her head.  While in the treatment room, she was the same, but then suddenly she would be crying, and then just like that she would be manic again.  She had been on medication for years and was looking for something to help her get out of this situation.   After her first adjustment, she seemed better.  I sent her home and she came back for a follow up visit 3 weeks later.  As soon as she came through the door, I knew that there was a change.  In her own words she said that "I feel like a different person."  She was in control of herself, her thoughts and emotions.  She felt less anxiety and was doing better overall.

Upper cervical care is more than just managing pain.  It is about establishing communication between the brain and body to allow the individual to function at their potential.  That means to be the best that one is capable of being.  Nobody is at their best when there is interference to the nervous system, and it shows up as ANY TYPE OF SYMTPOM.  Pain is a symptom.  Disease is a symptom.  Mental disorders are a symptom.  Sickness is a symptom.  Health is natural.  It is the way God intended us to be.

Being healthy is a choice.  Choose life!

Health is Natural

A recent patient was completely in awe of the transformation that was taking place in her body since the start of her care.  She came in with multiple symptoms of which plantar fascitis was her main concern.  During her first month of care, she had a flare up of some symptoms which included dizziness, vertigo, anxiety and depression.  She stuck with it.  She did not take her drugs and refused to take the prozac which had been prescribed to her by her medical physician.  During her last office visit, she had told me that all of her symptoms have vanished and is only having a little difficulty with her foot pain.  She told me that she knows that in due time, that her foot pain was also going to go away.  Time will tell.

Many people have a hard time grasping the idea that an adjustment, or correction in the neck can help with their problems.  What they are failing to realize that it is not a correction or adjustment that is getting them better, it is the effect of the adjustment on the nervous system that is allowing their bodies to return to a normal state of health.  Health is a natural state.  It is the condition our bodies would like to stay in, but when there is interference to the main source of our health, which is the nervous system, then symptoms of ill health start to show up.  Removing the interference, and allowing the body to go back to its natural state is true health.

Health is not found in a pill or a bottle, it is a natural state that comes from within.  Please, share this knowledge with as many people as you can.  We must change the way we think and understand health so that we can make a real difference in this world, one person at a time.
